World Peace & Prayer Day Statement 2006

From Chief Arvol Looking Horse

Mitakuye (my relative)!

Almost all ancestors of Nations upon Grandmother Earth recognized the Summer Solstice, on June 21st, as an important time and journeyed to their Sacred Sites to give thanks and insure a bountiful Grand Mother Earth.

Our Vision is for Peoples of all Continents to come together as One at their Sacred Sites. On this day we gather to pray, meditate, and connect spiritually with one another to promote an energy shift toward healing our Grandmother Earth and reach a united consciousness to bring about a great healing of her spirit and life that sustains all living beings.

My Grandmother once told me to understand that everyone can have a good heart, a heart big enough to change the world.  She said the Great Spirit wouldn’t give us something we could not handle.

This year the Youth are taking on this responsibility as the next inheritors by giving of their bodies in running; praying for all life and help add prayers to heal Grandmother Earth.  Remember them in your prayers to have a safe journey on the “Prayer Run for World Peace”.  They will be running from Vancouver, BC beginning May 14, 2006 to June 18th an Alaskan sponsored World Peace & Prayer Day site in Eklutna, Alaska.

The animals are showing their sacred color of white to tell us we are in a time we will either be witness of tears from our relative’s eyes or unite spiritually to create a global healing for our future generations to live in health and happiness.

Know that you yourself are important to this world, believe that!  Understand the blessing and the burden of that.  You yourself are desperately needed to save the spirit of Grandmother Earth.
