The 11th Annual Native American Music Awards was held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Seneca Entertainment Center in the Seneca Casino & Hotel in Niagara Falls, New York. The Awards ceremony was hosted by Gil Birmingham who portrays Billy Black in Twilight. Birmingham's other appearances include Dreamkeeper, Skins, Nip/Tuck, 10 Items or Less, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Gil also starred as Dogstar in Steven Spielberg's acclaimed" Into the West."

 The Native American Music Awards, Inc. is the country’s leading Native American music association. It is composed of industry professionals, musicians, programmers, producers, engineers and other professionals who promote and preserve Native American music across the U.S. and the world.
