Welcome to Native Village website! Your visit honors us. Please make yourself at home.
Native Village was created as a current events and national resource for Native youth, teens, families, educators, and friends. Our bi-weekly publications include Native Village Youth and Education News and Native Village Opportunities and Websites. Each issue shares Indian news,  information, and resources across the Americas and is written in a condensed, easy-to-read format.
Native Village libraries house links to scholarships, opportunities and websites. Our archives allow you to browse past issues, and we continually update information in other areas to help you stay current with Americas' First Nations and People.
Because of modern technology, Native Peoples' diversity, voices, and news is available to anyone having having Internet access. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your homes, schools, and workplaces. We appreciate your confidence in us.

Note:  From November, 2004 until December, 2006, Native Village was a recognized 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization under the umbrella non-profit, the National Heritage Foundation. However, our relationship with the NHF was terminated --by us --because new tax regulations for umbrella non-profit organizations under the 2006 Pension Protection Act did not  guarantee that funds would be disbursed as requested.
 Greetings to you all!

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Gina Boltz, director and editor of Native Village.  I am a retired elementary and special education teacher from Ohio and hold both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education.

I am married to a wonderful man, have two step children, and many pets, both domestic and wild.  My husband and I have landscaped our property to create a wildlife habitat for native plants and animals and migrating birds of the endangered Oak Openings region. Although we live one mile from the area's largest mall, the work has paid off-- so far, our "visitors" have included a bald eagle, great blue heron, and many native wildflowers.
No matter how busy my life is, however, I will always volunteer time for the children and those who care about them. Today's youth deserve a better world, and Native Village is a humble effort to encourage that world.
Native Village was created to help build bridges among the past, the present, and the future in a peaceable, honest way. In the Americas, European invaders have been exterminating Native Peoples and their cultures for over 500 years. It's time to stop the destruction and begin the healing.  Education in all manners and forms is the key.
For children to experience a better future, we must prepare them for the challenges ahead.  Native Village owes its life to the selfless generosity of friends, Internet news sources, and listserves  whose research and contributions make this publication possible.  With the breath of all, we create winds of knowledge.
I encourage grandparents, parents, older siblings, and teachers to read and discuss appropriate Native Village information with younger children. Celebrate the positive news, and explore ways to make the "not-so-positive" news better. Ask questions, brainstorm, explore Problem-Solving techniques... Let's empower youth of all races, religions, and cultures to work together.
Thank you again for visiting Native Village website and publications. I hope that our efforts create more awareness about what was, what is, and what SHOULD be.
